US Aircraft's Cemetery Like You Never Seen it

US Aircraft's Cemetery Like You Never Seen it - One of the Most Interesting Place on Earth

An airplane graveyard, sometimes better known by the American term of aircraft boneyard, designates a storage area for aircraft that are discarded after their years of service or directly fault of budget or because of the presence of obsolete technology.

Most aircraft are kept for storage or converted into scrap after provision for spare parts. Deserts, like those in south-western United States, are good places for these cemeteries are, because of the size of the aircraft, very extensive.

The dry climate also reduces corrosion and potentially extends the shelf life.

British Airways - Building the 787-9 Dreamliner

British Airways - Building the 787-9 Dreamliner

British Airways has welcomed the arrival of our first 787-9 Dreamliner. This time-lapse video takes you behind the scenes at Boeing's factory where the aircraft is expertly built.

The 787-9 is 20ft longer than its 787-8 predecessor, making room for our new painstakingly designed eight seat First cabin.

The 787-9 will start flying to Delhi in October 2015, followed by Abu Dhabi, Muscat, Kuala Lumpur and Austin.

A great video taken by a gentleman called Jeff Cremer flying his Drone over the City of Lima in Peru. One heck of a show.

Happy New Year everyone

F16 Drones

F16 Drones

This is awesome! Didn’t realize drone technology had advanced this far so quickly. They are using up their obsolete F-16’s. Not a good day for the future of manned aircraft. Seems like the PILOT is on the endangered list. This little four minute video is really something. A first for a full size jet airplane. Thousands of planes that were grave yard bound, with costs in the hundreds of millions, can now be used as never before. These F-16’s Boeing aircraft have been in the bone yard at Davis-Monahan for 15 years , and now being used as drones.

Piper Cub Stunt Flying Comedy Act

Piper Cub Stunt Flying Comedy Act

Piper Memorial Airport (KLHV) featured Greg Koontz and the Alabama Boys, Piper Cub Stunt Flying Comedy Act again this year at the Anual Sentimental Journey Fly- In. I was fortunate enough to video most of the act with my camera for your viewing pleasure.

It is not the same as being there to see it, but it is the next best thing. Greg does things with a Piper Cub that are hard to imagine, and the surprise ending is his landing on the worlds smallest airport!

Clip is a bit long at 20 minutes, but it's worth watching
