At the field you may have heard helicopter guys talking about “Autos”, and seen some of the guys practising them. Autorotation is what the full size machines do if they have an engine out or other mechanical failure, and it is a major part of the pilot’s licence. A critical skill to have when flying a helicopter with a glide ration of almost 1 to 1. You get one shot it at!!

Due to safety concerns the field has been CLOSED until further notice.
Until we have completed safety checks to ensure it is safe for members to use. We will check for snakes ( big problems in the past floods ), electrical, sanitation, drinking water and that the building structure is safe.

The field is remaining CLOSED until Friday 25th February.
It is still too wet being due to the additional rain which has fallen over the recent days.
Therefore the field will be open for flying on Friday 25th February.
Members are to be aware that the site is still quite damp and there are
limited facilities available in the club rooms.
